Eventgroove uses cookies and similar technologies to distinguish you from other users and to help provide you with the best possible online experience.
By using Eventgroove, you agree to our Privacy and Cookie policies and consent to the use of cookies and similar technologies by us and our carefully selected third party partners as described in these policies. If you do not agree to such use, please see the “Manage your cookies” section below for details on how to adjust your settings.
What is a cookie?
Cookies are text files containing small amounts of information, which are downloaded to your personal computer, mobile or other device when you visit a website. Cookies are then sent back to the originating website on each subsequent visit, or to another website that recognises that cookie.
Cookies are useful because they enable a much better experience for you, and also allow for improved personalization by enabling a website to recognise a user’s device.
Cookies do lots of different jobs, like letting you navigate between pages efficiently, remembering your preferences, and generally improve the user experience. They can also help to ensure that adverts you see online are more relevant to you and your interests. Cookies do not contain confidential information such as your home address, telephone number or credit card details. Eventgroove does not control what information is stored by third party cookies.
Here are the cookies we use on Eventgroove:
Session cookie: This cookie allows websites to link the actions of a user during a browser session and most importantly enables our website to function properly. Without a session cookie, Eventgroove will not work. A browser session starts when a user opens the browser window and finishes when they close the browser window. Session cookies are created temporarily. Once you close the browser, all session cookies are deleted.
Persistent cookies: These cookies remain on a user’s device for the period of time specified in the cookie. They are activated each time that the user visits the website that created that particular cookie. For example, if you log into a website and then return to the website some days later, the website knows who you are and displays a welcome message to you.
Strictly necessary cookies: These cookies enable services you have specifically asked for. For those types of cookies that are strictly necessary, no consent is required.
Functionality cookies: These cookies allow websites to remember choices you make (such as your user name, language or the region you are in) and provide enhanced, more personal features. These cookies can also be used to remember changes you have made to text size, fonts and other parts of templates and web pages that you customise. They may also be used to provide services you have asked for such as watching a video or commenting on a blog. The information these cookies collect may be anonymised and they cannot track your browsing activity on other websites.
In addition, these cookies are essential in order to enable you to move around the website and use its features, such as accessing secure areas. Without these cookies, services you have asked for, like shopping baskets or e-billing, cannot be provided.
Analytics cookies: These cookies collect anonymous information on the pages visited. These cookies collect information about how visitors use the website, for instance, which pages visitors go to most often, and if they get error messages from web pages. These cookies do not collect information that identifies a visitor. All information these cookies collect is aggregated and therefore anonymous. It is only used to improve how the website works. Analytics cookies also work with advertising networks like Google Adwords. These cookies are placed with our permission. Quite often, analytics cookies will be linked to site functionality.
Manage your cookies
You have different options to manage the cookies on your computer or device. You can change your browser settings to prevent cookies from being accepted, or, depending on which browser you are using, you might be able to receive an alert when a website is trying to place one on your browser. Most browsers allow first party cookies to be set but refuse third party cookies. The Help menu on the menu bar of most browsers will tell you how to prevent your browser from accepting new cookies, how to have the browser notify you when you receive a new cookie and how to disable cookies altogether. You can also disable or delete similar data used by browser add-ons, such as Flash cookies, by changing the add-on’s settings or visiting the website of its manufacturer. You can also delete cookies stored on your browser by using a function in your browser. While this does not mean you won’t collect cookies in the future, it gives you freedom to delete your cookies after you have been online, also known as “clearing cookies”.
We recommend you allow cookies from Eventgroove as our site will not work without them and because cookies allow you to take advantage of some of our essential features.
For example, if you block or otherwise reject cookies you will not be able to add items to your Shopping Basket, proceed to Checkout, or use any of our products and services that require you to Sign in.
